Ignis — titled after the Latin word for “flame” — is an atonal work that portrays the chaos and essence of fire through rhythmic and sonic collisions.
Fire, as a phenomenon, exists only through the interplay of multiple elements — oxygen, fuel, and space. In this work, their complex and unstable relationships are reimagined through sound, evoking the volatile energy that sustains the flame.
At its core lies a question: Why does fire come into being, and why is it necessary? Confronting this familiar yet profound presence invites us to reconsider our relationship with a force we often take for granted.
Ignis extends my ongoing artistic exploration — the pursuit of existence through sound and the reconstruction of natural phenomena within a musical framework.
『Ignis』は、ラテン語で「炎」を意味するタイトルを冠した作品です。 調性を持たず、リズムと音の衝突を通して、炎の混沌やその存在そのものを描いています。 火という現象には、酸素・燃料・空間といった複数の要素が必要であり、 その複雑で不安定な関係性を音によって再現した作品です。
火はなぜ生まれ、なぜ必要とされるのか。 私たちが“当たり前”に扱っているこの存在に、もう一度向き合いたいと感じました。
この作品は、私が日頃から行っている 「音による存在の探究」と「自然音の再構築」というスタイルの延長に位置づけられるもので
す。
